SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The recent lack of rain came to an abrupt halt by the time the Eventing Show started, which was part of the EP Horse Society Pony Rider EV 90 and the Junior Rider EV 100 Championships at the George Riding Club; both riders and horses were drenched to the bone in the dressage test.

Luckily for riders and horses, the rain stopped on the Saturday afternoon, while the lower level participants completed their showjumping phase. The next and final day it was sunny, but cold with a very wet and muddy cross-country track.

There were some thrills and spills on the track, but all went well and the showjumping phase on the Sunday afternoon determined the overall winners.

Although the conditions were not ideal, spectators were treated to some spectacular performances by determined riders and horses, braving the elements together.
