NATIONAL NEWS - The South African Revenue Service (Sars) has confirmed that it's chief financial officer Matsobane Matlwa has resigned.
The revenue service has not provided reasons for his departure.
It says that it's executive for procurement Johnston Makhubu will act in his position in the interim.
The revenue service's Luther Lebelo: "We can further confirm that he intended to leave as early as December and the commissioner convinced him to stay. Now he has given his resignation and the commissioner understands that he must accept it."
Sars made headline this week after reports that its commissioner Tom Moyane went to Dubai at the same time as the Guptas and their key associates.
Sars has confirmed that Moyane was in Dubai in December while in transit to Portugal but says he has never met with any member of the Gupta family in either his private and professional capacity.
