NATIONAL NEWS - Jaranda FM came under fire on Tuesday afternoon after it was confirmed that trade union Solidarity sent a lawyer’s letter to the radio station demanding the recordings of host Tumi Morake, after she allegedly made racial remarks.
The radio station declined to give any further comment on the matter. It did, however, confirm that it does support a non-racial society and does not condone hate speech in any form.
“The station’s on-air content aims to promote important and meaningful discussions, with the intention of building and uniting South Africa as a nation,” said general manager Kevin Fine.
He said having these crucial conversations were an important feature of their role in society.
