GEORGE NEWS - An army of over 400 volunteers rocked up to participate in Hope Curch's annual Serve Day last weekend, serving the community of George with acts of kindness and care.
"Serve Day 2022 was a major success! We painted, we laughed, we played, we made new friends, but most importantly, we showed our community the love of God," said Petri Esterhuizen of Hope Church.
"We do Serve Day to give back to the community and to show them that we care. We want the entire George and surrounding community to know that Hope Church George is not just here to make a noise, but to make a difference! We love George, we love South Africa and we believe that the best is yet to come!"

One of the volunteers, Nicole Williams, said the highlight of her day was painting with chalkboard paint in the children's rooms at Môreson Children's Home.
"They said now it feels like a room and a home!" she laughed. Cyri Baatjies, who served at Carpe Diem School, said, "What a blessing to be able to serve and give back to the community that which we received from God! We had loads of fun and made new friends!"
Marylin Hathron visited Phambili Refuge. "We were at the women's shelter and just to see the ladies, see their hearts and get to know them was incredible! We danced, laughed, talked and sang with them. We were blessed by being a blessing!"
