Tracy, Caleb’s mother who was packing Caleb’s bags this morning said “we hope to leave this afternoon for our home in Prince Albert. The challenge is for Caleb not to put undue pressure on left leg as it is still swollen from where the shark bit it.”
Caleb said he expects to be in Prince Albert for the next three weeks and then he is planning to relocate to Cape Town for his recuperation. “Cape Town is where my infrastructure is. The George Mediclinic has been fantastic and I will be forever grateful to everyone for their help and professionalism.”
Luc, Caleb's father, told the George Herald after the initial operation that Dr Michael Ray Sunshine, who was on call at Mediclinic George when the helicopter brought Caleb in, said that his son is lucky to be alive.
