ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The South Cape Association of Visual Arts (Scava) officially opened its year-end exhibition in the Sayer's Auditorium at the George Museum on Friday evening.
More than 200 paintings from members are being exhibited until 22 January.
A small selection of beautiful metal sculptures by Zane Pretorius, creator of the life-size metal elephant sculpture at Dynarc House in Courtenay Street, can also be viewed.
Scava's chairperson, René Scribante, handed over the prize for the best sketch on exhibition to Annalene Lindeque, a Group Editors designer, for Lemon, a charming sketch displaying excellent technique.
Upcoming art market
Scava will also be presenting The Art of Christmas, an art market focusing on art, artistic crafts and artisans, from 13 to 20 December.
It will be held in the parking area next to the museum in Courtenay Street. "All artists, artisans and creators are invited to participate.
The market coincides with the George Festival 2025 and will be very visible and accessible for local residents, holiday-makers and tourists attending the festival.
"We are looking for unique products that will enhance the Christmas season and market. Space is limited," said Scribante.
