GEORGE NEWS - Georgians will get the full spectacle of the Knysna Celtic Concert with musicians and vocalists of local, national and international merit tomorrow night, Thursday 22 February, at Eden Place, Kraaibosch.
The concert will include Highland dancing and rousing music performed by local and national Scottish pipers and drummers.
The Knysna and District Pipe Band comprising about 25 of South Africa's top pipers and drummers will be one of the many highlights.
Christy Lyn will perform her unique style of Celtic song, accompanying herself on the Celtic harp.
The local Carpe Musicam! Orchestra and Choir will be representing George's musical talent.
Top of the bill will be Chris Stout and Catriona MacKay - arguably the world's finest exponents of Celtic harp and fiddle music.
Music students from George South Primary School will be providing music in the foyer before the show.
All-in-all, it promises to be a rather top-notch musical evening.
This concert is an ideal opportunity to get the younger generation hooked as it contains enjoyable, simple music, toe-tapping rhythms, colour and spectacle.
The Carpe Musicam! Orchestra has some invigorating musical items lined up, including Danny Boy, Lord of the Dance and Irish Rhapsody.
Sarie Marais and Amazing Grace will conclude the show.
Tickets are R150 per person and available at The Office at the Precap Centre and at Sotheby's White House.
