The course was in excellent condition, but the same could not be said about the weather, with pelting rain and strong winds.
However, nothing dampened the spirit that permeated the senior women of the Southern Cape.
The day was made possible by sponsorship from Liquorland George and Jane Simon, the Wine Ambassador.
The incumbent President, Stephanie Bennett, was thanked for her past services and tireless work for Southern Cape seniors by the incoming President, Magda Kaltenbrunn.
The silver medal gross winner was Charlie Ford (85), second was Colleen Robinson, who counted out Gail Botha to third (both on 89).
The bronze medal gross winner was Jenny Tipping (92) with Dot Wilson second (96) and Cynthia Zietsman third (100).
Best nett medal score was won by Annette Meyer (70) with Marita du Randt runner-up (75) counting out Thelma Winterbach on the same score.
Some players elected to play the stableford version of the game and this separate competition was won by Vanda Christian with an excellent 39 points followed by Min Preston with a very commendable 36 points. Glenda Lay, with 35, counted out Dalene Weir to fourth.
Nearest the pins were awarded on all four short holes and won by Paulene Franklin, Delene Weir, Marita Durandt and Annette Meyer.
