The crossover has received interior, exterior, connectivity and colour option revisions among other things.
Exterior tweaks
Keen observers will note that the hexagonal front grille has now been fettled with a larger chrome split wing. The shape of the front bumper has also been revised to include accented chrome plating that now surrounds the fog lamps. The Subaru common motif has also been extended and the HID headlamps now include white indicator bulbs. The 17-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned with black inlays and silver spokes. The tail lamps now make use of white LED lamps, while the roof end spoiler has also been extended. There are also two new exterior colours: hyper blue and dark blue pearl available as options.
Interior changes
The XV now benefits from the same steering-wheel design as the Legacy and Outback models with controls for audio, voice recognition, cruise control and use of the trip computer. The steering wheel, seats, door cards and gear lever are finished in orange stitching. There are paddle shifters behind the steering wheel - again for the model equipped with the CVT transmission. Other visual tweaks include gloss black plastic inserts on the doors, instrument panel and dashboard.
The infotainment system has been enhanced and includes Bluetooth, USB and AUX compatibility. iPhone users will be glad to hear that there is now Siri Eyes-Free, a technology that works in conjunction with the standard voice recognition system. Link a compatible Siri device to the Subaru XV, and easily make use of Siri as you would in any other circumstance; to search the web; to make a call; to play music etc.
Mechanicals unchanged
The engine range remains with the same 110kW/196Nm 2.0-litre naturally aspirated unit doing the business. There are still two transmission options in the form of the six-speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic CVT gearbox. Symmetrical all-wheel-drive and advanced Subaru Dynamic Chassis Control are still standard.
Subaru safety
The XV range comes with a range of safety systems such as seven SRS airbags; Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) with ABS brakes, BAS and EBD. This means that the XV has a five-star Euro NCAP and ANCAP safety rating.
Warranty and service
The XV range comes with a five-year/120 000km full Maintenance Plan Extension, as a special launch offer until 31 March 2016.
