GEORGE NEWS - The completion of the new R17,6 million Go George transfer facility in Pacaltsdorp will be celebrated tomorrow, Tuesday 24 February, when Western Cape Mobility Minister Isaac Sileku visits the area as part of engagements linked to the George Integrated Public Transport Network (GIPTN).
A symbolic unveiling of the facility at the corner of Beach and Panther streets is scheduled for 09:15 to 10:30.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public transport infrastructure and improve commuter safety and accessibility in Pacaltsdorp and surrounding areas.
Following the unveiling, the minister, together with officials from Go George and George Municipality, will conduct a site visit to major road rehabilitation projects, including the R65 million upgrade of Tabata Street, where Phase 4 is currently under way.
The day’s programme will continue in Thembalethu with the official launch and demonstration of the Go George customer care chatbot, GOBoT, at the Truns transfer location, as well as an industrial route drive between Thembalethu and George Industria to showcase improved access to workplaces through regular, affordable public transport services.
