GEORGE NEWS - God Cares International (GCI), a George-based humanitarian non-profit organisation, is asking the community to support its annual school clothes outreach.
This year they want to secure 40 uniforms for Grade 1 learners and and essential stationery for 15 Grade 8 learners from Syferfontein.
With the new academic year fast approaching, the organisation is facing a significant funding shortfall that threatens to leave these children without the necessities to continue their school careers.
For the past 18 years, this outreach has offered children a chance to start their schooling with dignity and pride.
"The lack of proper school uniforms and supplies can have a huge impact on a child's mental and emotional readiness to learn. Our team is determined to ensure that no child is left behind due to financial constraints," says GCI founder Debbie Pijoos.
Call to action
GCI appeals to individuals, businesses and organisations to lend a helping hand.
Contributions can be as modest as sponsoring a single child or as substantial as funding the entire initiative. As a registered NGO and public benefit organisation, GCI can issue Section 18A tax receipts for donations, ensuring that contributors benefit while making a difference.
