GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route Botanical Garden staff took part in a photo opportunity on Monday 26 January to show off their new uniforms that are valued at more than R100 000 and sponsored by Dotsure.
The uniforms were handed out in December and include branded shirts, caps and jackets, as well as jeans and boots.
The donation is only the beginning of an extended collaboration between the garden and Dotsure. The company will also be sponsoring signage to help regulate the behaviour of dog owners who bring their dogs for walks.
The garden curator, Christiaan Viljoen, said buying new uniforms would have been impossible on the garden's budget, so they are extremely grateful. "We need all the community support we can get. Without it, the garden will collapse. I am very excited about Dotsure's involvement."
The garden is a dog-friendly space, but there is difficulty with dog owners who don't always keep their dogs on leashes and leave dog litter on the pathways, while bins for disposal are available. Some owners also bring aggressive dogs into the off-lease zone.
"We really welcome dogs to the garden and want to create an even more dog-friendly environment, but we can only do this if everyone cooperates. We believe the signage Dotsure will be sponsoring will tickle people's conscience and get them to comply."
Glen Anderson, chief commercial officer for Dotsure, was there for the photo opportunity. He said Dotsure is excited to be involved in such a wonderful community asset to which some of its staff members are regular visitors.
Lovely branding with Dotsure and the botanical garden’s logos.
