BUSINESS NEWS - A total of 50 small businesses from George, Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay are celebrating new opportunities after taking part in a two-day training intervention funded by the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) and facilitated by Isiswenye Skills Development Projects, a local training company founded in George in 2021.
Held over two days earlier this month, the programme supported both registered companies and informal traders, equipping them with the skills, stock and resources needed to run their businesses successfully and sustainably.
Isiswenye, a proudly local training company founded in George in 2021, was chosen by W&RSETA as part of its national capacitation initiative and got accredited by Quality Council for Trade and Occupations (QCTO).
Following its success, Isiswenye was entrusted with training 50 businesses within the Western Cape - a milestone for the company and the community it serves.
Local councillors, the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (Sedfa - formally known as Seda), Inkcubeko Youth and Science Centre, iHub in Thembalethu and several social networks all played a role in connecting small businesses to this life-changing opportunity.
"We are proud of each and every participant and excited to see the growth these businesses will bring to the township economy of the Garden Route District," said Isiswenye's managing director, Mlungiseleli Dulaze.
"We are deeply grateful to W&RSETA for trusting us with such an important intervention and look forward to bringing more projects to our community."
The training has opened up new opportunities for the participants.
