GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - I challenge you - in the market we have experienced over the last two years, did you create R6-million worth of new business yourself?
Why not? We did!
It was September 2019 when the local BNI branch, or chapter as it is known, was officially launched. The main aim was to create a network of business contacts for its members, and to assist them in securing new business for each other.
But as the chapter developed, it became about so much more than simply revenue generated, it was about support, and so the chapter was named BNI Cultaca (Gaelic for "support").
What makes BNI Cultaca so successful is that members continually learn about each member's business and are therefore in a better position to look for genuine opportunities for each other.
Given that there is a strict vetting process to become a member, those that successfully join BNI are usually the best in their field and are held to account if performance does not meet what has been promised. This way, when a member refers business to another member, there is no risk involved, only trust and certainty.
BNI members gather for a meeting every Friday morning.
There is no conflict between members because they all operate in different markets. Once the seat for a particular profession is filled, no other members that offer the same services may join.
Members meet every Friday morning to exchange ideas, meet new people, learn new skills and just catch up with each other. Teams develop, relationships are built and whole new businesses have been created directly because of these interactions.

Best case, it could be the boost you and your business have been looking for.
Although BNI is a business group, it is still both fun and positive. (Masks removed for purpose of the photo)
