REGIONAL NEWS - Sedgefield Eagle Stars and Bitou Rugby Club enjoyed a successful round of rugby in their respective leagues last weekend as both clubs' first and second teams overcame their opposition.
All four of the Knysna, Sedgefield and Plettenberg Bay clubs were in action last weekend, but Knysna United and Jaguars were not as successful, as all of their sides lost in the latest round of SWD Rugby club fixtures.
It's been a mixed season so far for the CX clubs, with Eagle Stars and Bitou enjoying healthy success while Jaguars and Knysna United have had a tough time of it.
Jaguars travelled to take on Heidelberg on Saturday 22 July, and the hosts made sure they dominated. Heidelberg C beat Jaguars C 47-0 to kick off the day, and followed that up with a 29-12 triumph in the second team game.
They dominated the first-team encounter, running out 57-10 victors over their visitors from Plett. After these defeats Jaguars are in 10th place out of the 12 teams in Super League A.
Knysna United meanwhile made the trek to Oudtshoorn where they faced Harlequins. The hosts were determined once more, and Harlequins B started the day off with a 22-10 victory over their Knysna counterparts. In the first-team game they stamped their authority and trumped Knysna United 64-24. Knysna United are now 11th out of the 12 teams in First Division A.

Eagle Stars had the task of travelling to Freimersheim to face Thistles who, despite lying in 10th on the log, is always a tough opponent at home.
In the second-team encounter Eagle Stars emerged victorious, beating their hosts 24-14. The first-team match was a tighter affair, but the visitors still managed to muster a 22-17 victory. Eagle Stars remain in third place on the log in First Division A.
Bitou had an easier time, making their way to Klein Brak to play against Hungry Lions.
There, the log leaders in First Division B West were determined to show who's boss.
Bitou won the second team match 38-0, setting the precedent for the first-team game.
The visitors had an even better first-team game, managing to whitewash their hosts by winning 69-0. Bitou remains in first place in First Division B West, three points ahead of second place.
