Round four proved to be quite an eye opener with several surprise outcomes making interesting changes to the leader board, both in the Challenge as well as the Plate sections. In the Challenge section, current leaders, Tavcor, who had beaten Old Mutual in the previous round, came up against a determined A&J Konstruksie.
Twelve ends later, after the best win of the day (21-6), A&J Konstruksie emerged as new leaders in the Challenge with only 2 rounds left to play.
Old Mutual made amends for their defeat in the last round by beating Multistone (20-10), thus moving back into second place on the log. Closest matches in the Challenge section were those played between ABSA and Mazars (13-10 to ABSA) and LetMeRepair and Sothebys (10-7 to LetMeRepair) with both winning teams gaining a 10-6 game point advantage.
The biggest move up the Challenge table was that by Stanmar who moved up 4 places while the largest drop was the -4 placeshift by Multistone after their loss to Old Mutual.
In the Plate event, the closest matches were those between The Crack Squad and AON (10-9 to the Crack Squad), and REMAX against Pro Admin South Cape (13-12 to REMAX).
Again, both winning teams gained a 10-6 game point advantage from their victories. The best move up the Plate ladder was that of Debt Wise who moved up 4 places and are within spitting distance of the leaders. Sadly for Smitties Number Plates, they gave away 4 of their 5 places gained last week as they slipped four places after their defeat by our sponsors team, Ricoh.
In the Challenge section, A&J Konstruksie (48) now head the leader board with a 5 point cushion over the second placed Old Mutual squad (43) with a pack of chasers another 4 points adrift. The Plate section is the more nerve wracking for leaders, Ricoh (34) who have Niflas A and de Villiers & Moore one point behind (33) and Debt Wise in 4th place on 30 points.

Pro Admin, represented by (from left) Zjuan Swart, Angie Swart, Mariana Swart and Karin Krohn-Bresler, had an intense struggle against Remax, going down narrowly by 12 points to 13 in a game that delighted the spectators.
Remax’s Marie Steyn, Johan Steyn, Dirk Lüüs and Madeleen Lüüs, fought hard to achieve their 13-12 win over their opponents.
