The work of Jaguar-Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the SVAutobiography uses the long wheelbase Range Rover L as a base, but comes fitted with what Land Rover calls Executive Class rear seats that can recline up to 40 degrees, features a hot stone massage function, heated calf and foot rests and, thanks to the extended length, provide up to 1.2 metres of legroom.
In addition to JLR's dual 10-inch rear touchscreens with Touch Pro Duo and 4G Wi-Fi, the middle seat has been dropped for a centre console that comes equipped with refrigerator able to hold "two bottles of wine or four 600ml bottles", while the boot features a segment first Power Deployable Veneered Loadspace Floor.
As with the standard Range Rover, the SVAutobiography will be offered in a choice of three engines; a 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol plug-in hybrid developing 297 kW / 640 Nm, a 4.4-litre turbodiesel V8 in the TDV8 making 250 kW and 740 Nm, and the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 delivering 375 kW and 625 Nm. A ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard on all models.
In its home market, prices for the SVAutobiography start at £167 850 (R3 077 792) for TDV8 with the hybrid commanding a sticker price of £168 015 (R3 080 818). The supercharged V8 meanwhile retails for £177 030 (R3 246 122).
