Reportedly snapped in Germany, the images of what appears to be the final production model almost falls in-line with those of the concept shown earlier this year, and apart of the black tape between the taillights, paints a sleeker picture of the sportier version of the Q7.
As to be expected, the production model does forego the shaved door handles for traditional openers, while the concept's aggressive diffuser has been toned down in place of a more prominent rear bumper. A performance RS Q8 is meanwhile expected to be added to the range later.
Underneath its skin, the Q8 will ride on the same MLB Evo platform as the Q7 and next Volkswagen Touareg, with power likely to come from a range of four and six-cylinder petrol and turbodiesel engines, as well as a plug-in petrol/hybrid.
According to reports, the Q8 will most likely make its world debut at Detroit Auto Show in January, and be build alongside the Q7 and Touareg at Volkswagen's plant in Bratislava, Slovakia.
