Celebrating nearly 19 years of Cross Country models since the launch of the V70 based XC in 1997, the V90 makes use of the same Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) as the S90 and XC90, but with a noticeable lift in ride height and discreet off-road inspired side body cladding.

Claimed to have been tested in some of the harshest conditions from the frozen Swedish north to the scorching heat of the Arizona desert, the V90 Cross Country is also expected to feature the same level of connectivity as the S90, with highlights including semi-autonomous driving, the now familiar tablet-like Sensus nine-touch touchscreen display and 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster.

Engine options will likely mirror that of the S90, with power ranging from as low at 140 kW and 400 N.m of torque in the base D4, to a combined 300 kW and 640 N.m for the range topping T8 hybrid. An eight-speed Geartronic will be the sole transmission offered with all-wheel drive standard on some models.

Already confirmed for local release, expect sales of the V90 Cross Country to commence early next year.
