The convicted killer was 16 years old when he was arrested by the police in Mossel Bay for the murder of Mlunguza, who died after being stabbed on Sunday 8 October 2017 in Lukhanyo Street, Zone 9.

"During the attack, the victim sustained several stab wounds to his body and he died on his way to the hospital."
Thembalethu communications officer, Captain Dumile Gwavu, said the investigation led to the arrest of the 16-year-old who was a Grade 10 learner at a school in Thembalethu.
"The accused was sentenced on Monday 6 May to ten years imprisonment, of which two years are suspended for a period of five years on condition that the accused is not convicted of murder, attempted murder and culpable homicide committed during the period of the suspension.
"The accused was also declared unfit to possess a firearm," he said.
The accused has another murder case pending for a murder that took place in March 2019 in Ramaphosa, Thembalethu.
Lieut-Col Mteto Sapepa, Thembalethu acting station commander, has applauded Const Luthando Jantjie, the investigating officer in this case, for sterling work.
Gwawu cautioned the youth about their ongoing feuds, as they often lead to murder.
"This sentence will have a negative impact on the future of the boy as he was only sixteen years old when he committed the offence.
"All young people are warned not to walk in groups, hang around the shops or anywhere in the area.
"Do not end up or find yourself on the wrong side of the law," he said.
