At a launch cocktail party held at the Kingswood Golf Clubhouse in George on Tuesday, the partner's introduced themselves as the new owners to the leading lights in the construction industry.
To date Rexform has been steadily churning out the most prestigious contracts. The company worked as sub-contractor on the Primi Piatti restaurant building, the Outeniqua Eye Clinic, the George Hospital Nursing Home and the new emergency wing, the building formerly housing the CTM showroom, the Lynn Schroeder showroom as well as many modern homes - steel and glass constructed homes in the Kingswood and Fancourt estates.
Rexform has been renamed by its new owners and will in future be known as the Rex Group of companies.
"We decided to form a new group of companies that will be specialising in more than one field," said Classen at the launch.
Apart from steelwork construction, the Rex Group will undertake general steelwork and form work. Although both Classen and Williams are better known as Liberty Life brokers in the George community, Williams has a wealth of experience in the events scaffolding field.
Williams landed the contract for erecting the grand stands and arenas for the London Olympics in 2012.
The partners, who are planning to expand on their current formidable presence in the George area, are confident that the management of the steel construction division is secure in the seasoned hands of Manager Jerry Hattingh who has been in the industry for 37 years and certainly needs no introduction in the Southern Cape region (in the construction field). Hattingh oversaw most of the aforementioned contracts.
The Rex Group is available for any steel design and construction and can be reached on 044 873 2037 or at info@rexgroup.co.za. See the website here.
