After our first article appeared in the George Herald, clothing streamed in from people and businesses across our community - everyone wanted to give to those in need - and boy, did you give!
We received more than 14 000 items of clothing, much more than we originally anticipated and it warmed our hearts to see how a community can truly come together to give to those less fortunate.
During the past few weeks we have visited the five organisations - Bethesda Youth and Child Care Centre, Options Care Centre, the Haven Night Shelter, LIFE Community Services and Solidariteit Helpende Hand - to distribute the mountains of clothing.
Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for opening yours! Because of you, the community of George, hundreds of people now have a privilege most of us often take for granted - clothing items for all seasons and occasions!
