Local star, Tristan Davison, together with his team members, Paul Davison (George) and Corlia Swart (Oudtshoorn), took the A-division honours. Davison, a Springbok polocrosse player and pupil at KeNako Academy - Rundle College in George gained popularity after he successfully represented South Africa during the u.16 tour to Ireland in 2012.
His father, Simon, and two local players, Allan Oates and Mark Rubin, finished runners-up in the A-division. Michelle Simpson, Gavin Hobson and Chris Kumst (Tenikwa Polocrosse Club members) won the B-division.
"Gavin needs a special mention as his first time on a horse was three weeks before the tournament. He did fantastically well! We are so proud of him," said Simpson, Tenikwa Polocrosse Club committee member.
Tenikwa Polocrosse Club were further proud to have their players achieve the first Best Player awards. These top players were: Tristan (1), Corlia Swart (2) and Paul Davison (3). Not only did the players do well, but their ponies made them just as proud. Rubin's pony, Rain, won best pony for the A-division with Ruth Kumst's pony, Lollipop, winning best pony in the B-division.
The club members travel to Port Elizabeth on 21 March to compete in their next tournament.
