POLITICAL NEWS - South African Communist Party (SACP) leader Blade Nzimande has used Red October Centenary celebrations to take a swipe at President Jacob Zuma, saying he behaves as if the communists weren’t part of him ascending to power.
Nzimande was speaking in Clermont in Durban where a rally was being held in commemoration of the Russian revolution.
Speaking in IsiZulu, Nzimande called on communist party members to grow the SACP because they cannot campaign for the African National Congress (ANC) forever.
The general secretary spent a portion of his speech speaking about the alliance, saying there’s a history of a breakdown in relations that can be traced back as far as during former president Nelson Mandela’s tenure.
Nzimande lashed out at the ANC and President Zuma in particular, saying his continued failure to consult before making crucial decisions like his recent Cabinet reshuffle show that he has no respect for the alliance partners.
