Posted by the @hamad1two3 Instragram page that leaked first shots of the updated Prado last year, the images sees Toyota’s iconic off-roader boasting a familiar profile than the current model, but with a completely new front facia made up of wraparound style headlights, a more prominent grille seemingly taken from the North American Sequoia and L-shaped LED fog lights. Flush door handles completes the new look.
While no pictures of the rear or interior were shown, the images, which were reportedly taken from a Japanese magazine, did reveal the supposed dimensions, namely an overall length of 4 950mm, a wheelbase of 2 850mm, height of 1 920mm and a width of 1 980mm.
The most interesting piece of info though is the engine, which, according to the spec sheet, is a 3.4-litre V6 producing 310kW/600Nm, mated to a brand-new 10-speed automatic gearbox, with a claimed fuel consumption figure of 11.2-litres/100km. Although no further technical details were provided, the motor is likely to be turbocharged given the amount the torque it outputs, though it remains unknown as to what fuel type is being used.
Given the current Land Cruiser 200’s long production run, the introduction of an all-new model is still some way off.
