GEORGE NEWS - Residents and visitors to Kingswood Golf Estate are mourning the loss of Siya, the estate's much-loved black springbok, who was found dead on Monday morning at the age of just two years.
The estate shared the news earlier today, describing Siya as one of Kingswood's most recognisable and admired wildlife ambassadors. A post-mortem examination later confirmed that he died of natural causes.
Over the past two years, Siya became a familiar sight as he roamed the fairways and open spaces of the estate. With his striking black coat the rare springbok became an unofficial mascot for the estate.
In a statement, Kingswood Golf Estate said Siya's presence served as a daily reminder of the unique privilege of living alongside wildlife in an environment where nature and community coexist.

"His distinctive appearance, graceful nature and unique presence made him one of the estate's most recognisable and admired wildlife ambassadors," the estate said.
"While his time with us was far too short, the memories he created will endure, and he will be fondly remembered as a special part of the Kingswood family." - Compiled by Michelle Pienaar
