GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 1 warning for severe thunderstorms affecting the central parts of the Eastern Cape.
Heavy downpours are expected to lead to localised flooding in low-lying areas, roads and bridges.
The storms could also produce hail and damaging winds, increasing the risk of damage to settlements and infrastructure.
Residents in affected regions are advised to remain alert and avoid flood-prone routes where possible.
