Snapped by Japanese blog Livedoor Blog outside what appears to be Toyota's Tahara plant in Japan, the spy shots of the contingent Prados all but confirms previous Instagram posts and leaks from a visual standpoint, in that the newcomer receives a completely new facia made up of a rounded front bumper, new headlights with daytime running LEDs, new bonnet and a more upright five-slot grille.
As showed in previous shots, the rear gets restyled light clusters, new bumper, repositioned foglights and depending on the market, a tailgate or under body mounted spare wheel.
In Japan, the Prado will come powered by a 2.7-litre petrol engine developing 120 kW and 246 Nm of torque, or the same 130 kW / 450 Nm 2.8-litre GD-6 turbodiesel used in the Hilux and Fortuner. Other markets will also feature the popular 4.0-litre V6 petrol option, and two version of the stalwart 3.0-litre four-cylinder oil burner.
A six-speed automatic gearbox will be standard on Japanese spec models, although some markets can expect a five-speed automatic, a five-speed manual and a six-speed manual. Pricing in Japan will range from ¥3 538 080 (R424 628) to ¥5 363 280 (R643 683).
