According to the report though, the Q4, which will reportedly be a sportier version of the recently launched new Q3, will boast a unique design feature bespoke to it. This according to Audi Design boss Andreas Mindt, who told Britain’s Autocar that the newcomer will be “more than a coupe version of the Q3”.
Set to become the latest model to make use of the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, the Q4 will be build alongside the Q3 at the automaker’s plant in Gyor, Hungary and measure in the region of 4 500mm compared to its sibling’s 4 484mm. It will also come powered by the same assortment of petrol and diesel engines, as well as the same interior and level of standard and optional equipment.
In a related report, German publication Auto Bild has outlined the marque’s product plans from now until 2025, with models coming next year consisting of the A1 Allroad and S1, A3, a more extensively updated A4 and A5, A6 Allroad, S8, RS7, RS Q2, RS Q3, RS Q5 and RS Q8, while the aforementioned Q4 could also be called Q3 Sportback.
Coming 2020, the Q6 will join the RS6 Avant, all-electric eQ2 and the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS rivaling Q9, while the RS3 arrives in 2021 along with the replacement for the current TT. In 2022, the successor to the R8 drops in addition to a coupe version of the A4 and the electric eQ1, followed in 2023 by a drop-top A4.
