GEORGE NEWS - For just over a year now, a group of women have been plunging at Herold's Bay early every Friday morning. Yes, even in winter and even when it rains.
"We love it!" said Lisle Kolesky, an enthusiastic member of the group.
These ladies have decided to do their weekly swim in aid of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) through the Solstice Plunge.
"We saw the call for joining NSRI on their Solstice Plunge, and jumped at the opportunity. We love the work the NSRI does and want to support their fundraising efforts. We set out a target to raise R10 000 and we are already over halfway towards meeting it."
They plan to brave the cold weather to do the Solstice Plunge at 08:00 this Friday, 21 June, and invite readers to consider supporting this worthy cause by donating.
"Anyone is welcome to join us on Friday in the Herold's Bay pool," invites Kolesky.
People who would like to donate can do so on the Given Gain website, www.givengain.com. The project name is 'Saving lives at sea'.
