GEORGE NEWS - A soil-turning for a new community centre/clubhouse facility of more that R50m at Kingswood Golf Estate took place on Monday 4 March, with George Mayor Leon van Wyk leading the ceremony.
Jonathan Wits-Hewinson, chairperson of the subcommittee of the homeowners association that is responsible for the project, said in his welcoming words that the reasons why this such a special and significant occasion for Kingswood are manifold and multifaceted.
He said homewoners have been eagerly anticipating having a proper community centre and clubhouse at Kingswood for some 17 years, and now it is becoming a reality. It will be a facility to be enjoyed by all homeowners, golfers and non-golfers.

"Without this facility, that strategic goal was a mere ambition hoped to be achieved at some time in the future," he said.
A proper facility for golf patrons will significantly enhance the golfing experience at Kingswood and will enable the estate to take its proper place as a full member of the golfing attraction in the Garden Route, which is a world-class golfing destination. "We will no longer be the poor cousin in the neighourhood."
