GEORGE NEWS - Kaalvoet Mzansi, a foundation dedicated to motivating learners, distributed an outstanding total of 160 pairs of shoes at Parkdene Secondary School, Thembalethu High School, Thembalethu Primary and Pacaltsdorp High School on Wednesday 31 January and Thursday 1 February to support underprivileged learners who go to school barefoot. 

Anele Ngoyo, Kaalvoet Mzansi chairman, is proud of the outcome of their handout. 

"The schools appreciate the initiave of Kaalvoet Mzansi Foundation. 

"Some learners come to school wearing tekkies simply because they can't afford the luxury of school shoes," Ngoyo said. 

According to Ngoyo, their vision remains to change the mindset of the youth, "because we believe by doing what we do, we birth the next generation of selfless leaders who will think more of others, rather than being self-absorbed by the challenges that they are facing day by day." 

Ngoyo believes that "the children in whom we sow seeds of confidence and courage today, will be the same children working in specialised careers like doctors, accountants, lawyers and pastors tomorrow."

Kaalvoet Mzansi's next shoe handout will be on Tuesday 31 July.
