GEORGE NEWS - More than three decades after her first major pageant debut, former Mrs South Africa Marelize Steyn Earle has won the acclaimed 2025 Mrs Globe Classique crown.
The local beauty icon clinched the title during a spectacular finale at the Westin Rancho Mirage Resort in Palm Springs, California on Saturday 21 June.
She was radiant in a custom-made Werner Day silver gown embellished with crystals and beads.
“This crown is proof that when you stay true to yourself and keep pushing forward, amazing things can happen,” says Earle.
“I hope my story encourages other women to keep chasing their dreams relentlessly and unapologetically, regardless of their age or any setbacks they may have faced. There's always room for growth, and always time to become an even better version of yourself.”
The six-day Mrs Globe Classique competition is described as the world’s most prestigious pageant for women over 45 years.
Competing against 21 other international contestants, Earle swept the pageant’s preliminary awards, earning early titles such as Mrs Fitness, Businesswoman of the Year, and receiving the coveted Contestants' Choice award (voted for by fellow delegates), before ultimately being named Queen for 2025.
“To have been chosen from among such an extraordinary group of women, each embodying grace, ambition, and elegance, is really humbling. The entire experience has been absolutely unforgettable, creating special memories that will last a lifetime. I'm deeply grateful for the trust placed in me by Mrs South Africa to attend as this year’s delegate, and for the opportunity to make my country proud," she says.
The George-based aesthetician and professional makeup artist's pageant journey began as Miss South Africa Second Princess in 1993, walking the stage alongside Jacqui Mofokeng, South Africa's first Black Miss SA.

She went on to claim the Mrs South Africa crown in 2002 and has since dedicated herself to mentoring within the Mrs SA sisterhood.
Mrs South Africa CEO Joani Jacobs celebrates the victory as an affirmation of the organisation's continuing excellence and lasting impact.
“Marelize's win gives evidence to the extremely high calibre of women who emerge from our platform. Even two decades after her Mrs South Africa reign, she continues to raise the bar for other participants.
“Her commitment to mentoring our contestants and queens, while still pursuing and achieving her own dreams, embodies the spirit of our sisterhood. She hasn't just worn the crown, but has lived its values through grit, grace, and purpose.
“The entire Mrs South Africa team is so proud of Marelize for representing her country so fiercely, so proudly, and with so much heart. This is truly a moment of triumph, for Marelize, for our nation, and for the entire Mrs South Africa sisterhood.”
