GEORGE NEWS - "Poaching didn’t die when it was out of the public spotlight - things have only gotten worse in the last couple of years." 

This is one of the many things Robin Mahne, Glenwood House learner, learnt at the 2019 World Youth Wildlife Summit - something that caught him completely off guard. 

"With this newfound shock came an urgency; to make change happen before it’s all too late - but how does a 17-year-old schoolboy make a difference?" he asks.

"With help of course. My school elected me to lead the environmental committee at Glenwood House, which granted me just the support I needed. With a relatively small team of fellow learners, we’ve been raising money for Project Rhino, Wildlife Act and Elephants Alive. The George Golf Club is now allowing us to sell greens and tees for their Members' Golf Day on the 12 February - and all of the proceeds made will be going to the 3 environmental charities that do their best to help our rhinos, elephants and lions."

He adds: "We call on all businesses to get involved by buying a tee, green or both, at a cost of R500 respectively." 

With the sponsorship of a tee or green, you can advertise your business with branded banners that will be seen by more than 250 members on that day. 

"We as George can show how much we care about our environment and that everyone can make a difference; regardless of who you are."
