To say thank you for their efforts a celebratory breakfast morning was held at - and sponsored by - the Oude Karos, Wilderness, and attended by some 100 guests.
It was a true ‘Show and Tell’ event. The morning saw many accolades and awards given to different volunteers for their individual and corporate work. Furthermore, the theme for the 17th annual Casual Day was announced as ‘Music’.
So prepare yourself for Friday, 2 September, by buying your R10 sticker from over 260 participating NGOs (www.casualday.co.za) and planning a fantastic outfit in aid of persons with disabilities. As Annelise de Jager, national project co-ordinator says, "Your R10 will empower someone."
The six national beneficiaries for Casual Day are the SA Federation for Mental Health, DeafSA, NCPPDSA, SA National Council for the Blind, Epilepsy SA, and Disabled People SA.
Enjoying breakfast at Casual Day’s (Loslitdag) ‘Show and Tell’ feedback morning were (from left) Santie Boshoff (Carpe Diem volunteer), Susan Pretorius (Bolton footwear/Carpe Diem volunteer), Sanet Kleu and Adrie Pietersen (both from the department of social development).
