The attack
Reimann was attacked by a group of men in Mission Street, Pacaltsdorp, in the early hours of the morning. A passer-by, Charlotte Edwards, found him lying next to the road later that morning.
According to Edwards, Reimann was nearly hypothermic when she found him. He had severe injuries to his face and his clothes were torn off his body.
He was rushed to hospital and later underwent facial reconstructive surgery in the Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town.
Reimann's mother, Nellie, this week told George Herald that her son is doing okay under the circumstances, but that he is still dealing with a lot of trauma.
