SCHOOL NEWS - Two young gymnasts from George, Melienke Botha (12) and Amaris Kirchner (13), have been selected to represent South Africa at the World Age Group Competition in Nanjing, China, from 12 to 15 November.

Both athletes train at Live Gymnastics Academy under the guidance of coach Lisa Gower, the academy’s founder and owner.

Amaris has been selected to compete in double mini trampoline (DMT), while Melienke will represent South Africa in both trampoline and double mini trampoline in their respective age groups.

This will be Amaris’ second appearance at the World Age Group Competition, having represented South Africa in Pamplona, Spain, last year. It is Melienke’s first inclusion in the national team.

Adding to the achievement, Gower has also been selected as South Africa’s assistant floor coach.

Together, these two gymnasts and their coach will be proudly flying the South African flag and representing George on the international stage.
