GEORGE NEWS - When a group of horse riders from George were offered the chance to be coached by an Olympic champion, they didn’t need spurring on.
Receiving the input of paralympic champion Philippa Johnson-Dwyer is the opportunity of a lifetime.
Johnson-Dwyer is sharing her experience and expertise with the dressage riders, aged between 13 and 50, at Deja Vu Equestrian Centre today and tomorrow, 3 and 4 October.
Johnson-Dwyer is a double gold and double silver medal winner in Paralympic dressage. She herself is hoping to compete again next year in the Paralympics that will be held in Tokio, Japan.
Her experience is vast, having come from competing at top level to starting from scratch after a car accident 23 years ago left the right side of her body disabled.
"Don’t allow anyone to put limits on your dreams," she told the George Herald.
