GEORGE NEWS - As the Class of 2023 is reminiscing about the way forward after a successful school career, they are reminded about the world of opportunity awaiting them in the future.
Successful and non-successful 2023 matrics have to know that they may legally apply for admission to study a wide range of artisan qualifications, bearing in mind that the engineering trade fields require a mathematics and/or science pass.
Whilst congratulating candidates who passed Matric 2023 Elsie Harmse, CEO of the UXI Artisan Development group reminds school leavers that South Africa offers an abundance of job secured careers for qualified artisans.
“The life of every matriculant, who passed or unfortunately did not, consists of milestones but it certainly is one of the most outstanding and important highlights of your life. Well done if you have walked out with a matric certificate.
“You earned it through dedication and now every dream you had since being as little as five years old can be within your reach.
“Do not allow anything to stand between you and your goals since you have the potential to realise every dream.”
Harmse says private artisan colleges are looking forward to assisting all young men and women who did not receive the good news of a matric pass this year.
“It is not the end of your world. In fact, it could also be the beginning of an exciting career-driven life by using your Grade 11 marks to apply for admission to study for an international Red Seal Artisan qualification at private technical skills colleges.”
She encourages those who could not obtain matric not to allow the disappointment of matric results to stand between them and their aspirations.
“With your Grade 11 qualification you are allowed to apply to study as an apprentice in any of many trades i.e.: welder, plumber, electrician, boilermaker, carpenter, diesel mechanic, auto mechanic, mechanical fitter, and many more at a college which will also provide practical and workplace experience.”
Harmse points out that the youth of South Africa have ample opportunity to look forward to as the need for qualified artisans locally and abroad is endless.
“Today, take a decision to investigate and invest in the possibilities of artisan training for a highly demanded, ready to work and irreplaceable, and well-paid career.
“You start by getting an aptitude test done to determine what your unique strengths are. And we all have them.”
“In the interest of our young people and the economy I call on all who passed Grade 12 or 11 to find the best artisan course for them at a campus anywhere in the country.
“Find out which trade will open your career journey and an opportunity to earn a salary for a successful future and apply now. It is life changing.”
There is an abundance of artisan trade job opportunities in South Africa.
“So, take whatever matric results you received as yours and decide to do your best this year with what you achieved. Since it is your future, it is your decision.”
Harmse is wishing all 2024 matriculants the best and inspires them to work hard and be dedicated towards the opportunity of a lifetime after completing school.
“Do not wait too long to decide what you want to do with your career training in 2025. Know what your passion is and start working on your passion which will ensure a bright future as a career.”
