From theft and burglary to sexual and violent crimes, the figures reveal where communities are most affected, and the importance of proactive policing is critical.
George Police Station faces a wide range of crime, ranking fifth in the province for theft not elsewhere classified with 264 cases, second for burglary at non-residential premises with 49 cases, and 19th for burglary at residential premises with 65 cases.
The station is also 23rd for commercial crime with 89 cases, sixth for culpable homicide with six cases, seventh in the ‘other serious crime’ category with 409 cases, and 17th for theft out of or from a motor vehicle with 78 cases.
Significantly, George ranks 23rd for crimes detected as a result of police action, with 359 cases, showing strong enforcement and investigative work.
Thembalethu Police Station continues to register high levels of violent crime, ranking 15th in the province for burglary at residential premises with 67 cases, 16th for rape with 26 cases, 14th in the province for sexual offences overall and 10th for sexual assault specifically.
It ranks first for robbery at non-residential premises with eight cases, seventh for robbery at residential premises with 18 cases, and 29th for robbery with aggravating circumstances with 58 cases.
Pacaltsdorp has seen a concerning rise in sexual offences, ranking 19th for rape with 17 cases, while also placing 24th for crimen injuria with 24 cases.
The Conville Police Station ranks 24th for assault GBH with 83 cases, 15th for burglary at non-residential premises with 17 cases, and 25th for malicious damage to property with 77 cases.
