GEORGE NEWS - Peter Savo is a versatile artist, well versed at doing wildlife scenes using pyro graphics, which entails using soldering irons, gas burning tools and normal household irons to create the effect he wants, as well as certain liquids to compliment the results.
His work can be viewed at the George Museum until 28 October when the Heritage Exhibition (also featuring other local artists) comes to an end.
Peter, who was born in South Africa to a Greek father originally from Sparta and a South African woman of Scottish, French and German decent, has lived in South Africa most of his life.
He spent a few years living overseas in various places, until coming to George where he recently got married and now resides.
He also creates beautiful, large paintings of indigenous trees. His depiction of a baobab tree is very impressive and deserves a proper setting.
Peter loves painting with oils and acrylics and does sand paintings as well, using sand that comes from various places around SA and Namibia.
Take some time out to visit the museum between 10:00 and 16:00 to see work by other artists too - each comes with a story relating to the work. The exhibition is hosted by the South Cape Association for Visual Arts (Scava). All artists are welcome to become members.
