Adv Marilyn Olifant, founder of Legally You and a former teacher of Pacaltsdorp Primary, said the competition was about more than winning a trophy. “Today’s competition was about more than winning a trophy. It was about empowering young people with information, encouraging leadership, and reminding learners that they play an important role in creating safer schools and communities,” she said.
The event also commemorated the legacy of the youth of 1976, whose courage and determination continue to inspire young South Africans.
The organisers thanked the participating schools, teachers, volunteers, sponsors, community stakeholders and police members for their support. Sergeant Sergio Bowkers and Warrant Officer Clifton Jantjies congratulated Pacaltsdorp High on its achievement.
