Police seized 15 069 units of abalone worth R1,4-million in Mossel Bay.
SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Police across the region had great successes last weekend, confiscating drugs with an estimated street value of
R350 000 as well as 15 069 units of abalone. Several arrests were also made.
On Friday night police arrested a 47-year-old woman on the N2 highway in Wilderness for possession of 1 000 Mandrax tablets worth R50 000.
Members of the Southern Cape Flying Squad seized
15 069 units of abalone worth R1,4-million in Mossel Bay on Saturday morning and arrested a 29-year-old suspect from Hermanus.
The suspect appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Monday.
In Oudtshoorn, members of the Attakwa K9 Dog Unit arrested a 43-year-old suspect on Saturday for possession of 5 000 Mandrax tablets worth
R300 000.
All suspects are to appear in court on Monday.
Mandrax tablets worth R50 000 were confiscated near Wilderness.
