She also received a silver and four bronze medals while Eugene Schoombie received a silver and bronze medal.
Sixteen Fish Eagle Masters Swimmers entered the 30th SA Masters Swimming Championships held at the recently revamped Stadium Pool in Bloemfontein but, due to illness and work commitments, only 12 were able to take part. The team did well to return with 24 medals.
The oldest member of the team, 78-year-old Alan Dando from Knysna, won one silver and two bronze medals. Carol Hampshire won one silver and one bronze, Moneque Roos two gold and one silver and Mihan Roos and Dermot O' Dea both won a bronze medal.
Philip Barnhoorn from Mossel Bay won a bronze medal.
Nine members of the team also took part in the 1km open water swim held at Maselspoort. Bishop finished third overall and second in her category and bronze medals were awarded to Barnhoorn, Mihan Roos, Alan Wheeler and Jill Black. Nanna Joubert, Carol Hampshire and Moneque Roos finished fourth in their categories.
