He will be competing in the Junior South African Championships to be held in Beaufort West in December.
Waldeck was part of the George Tentpegging Club who went to Beaufort West to take part in the Beaufort West Tentpegging Equestrian Dressage, Jumping and Tentpegging course and competition.
The duration of this course and competition was from 3 to 10 July.
Three full days of tuition was given on the art and technique of tentpegging by renowned David Pickard-Cambridge and Kim Reitz and her team from Cape Town provided dressage and jumping instruction.
More than 50 young riders from various regions attended the course, nine riders from George Tentpegging.
Eight of the George riders are youngsters from Holy Cross Primary, Glenwood House, Outeniqua Primary and York High and five of these young riders also took part in the two-day Tentpegging Competition.
