The event was well attended by local Kobudo students and was concluded with dan gradings in the art of traditional Okinawan weaponry up to fourth dan.
The George Kobudo School is a registered dojo or Shibu at the Ryukyu Shimbukan in Japan and now boasts with nine Shodans (first dan), eight Nidans (second dan), one Sandan (third dan) and one Godan (fourth dan) in its ranks.
It was sensei Akemine's first visit to South Africa and he was pleasantly surprised by the scenic environment of the Garden route and said he is looking forward to his next visit to George.
