The Masters Singles Tournament is the highlight of any bowling year where the best selected players in the district compete for the coverted masters title.
Bowls Southern Cape divide the players into sections for both ladies and men. The top section is of course the Masters section followed by the Senior Masters, which caters for bowlers over the age of 60 - and of course the President's invitation for slightly younger players judged to be promising up and coming competitors.
Winner of the Ladies Master trophy was Elma Davis (George Bowling Club) who had to pull out all the stops to win against very worthy opponents. Runner-up was Helen Herr (Knysna Bowling Club.) The Master men's section was won by Billy Radloff (George Bowling Club) with the runner up Rudi Venter (Militery Sports Club Oudtshoorn).
Senior Ladies Trophy was lifted high by Edith Spence (George Bowling Club) with runner- up Rosalie Horning (Sedgefield Bowling Club). The senior men's section was won by Joos Taljaard (Karoo Park Bowling Club) and the runner-up was Rick Horning (Sedgefield Bowling Club).
Presidents invitation Ladies Winner was Maryke Rabe (George Bowling Club) while the runner-up was Helen van Wyk (Beaufort West Bowling Club). Men's Presidents invitation winner was Marius Delport (George Bowling Club) and the runner-up Jaco Nortje (Outeniqua Bowling Club).
Les Johnston, media liaison officer for Bowls Southern Cape, told the George Herald that Lawn Bowls "is primarily a team game, however the game of singles is possibly a true test of any bowlers skill. The game of singles requires concentration, skill and the ability to perceive as to what your opponent is likely to do with his/her next bowl. Coupled with these facts is the ability to remain calm and adhere to the etiquette of the great game."

The Master men's section was won by Billy Radloff (George Bowling Club).
