Garen Niemand was the biggest winner of the night, walking away with no less than six awards, including the best overall player of the year.
Awards were given in six categories, namely Golf, Hostel, Life Skills, Korean students, KeNako English programme and Pilates.
The event was presented at the Academy’s Plattner Boulevard facility and was attended by students, staff and family members.
Winners:
* Garen Niemand: player of the year, best spirit award, most competitive competition player, fitness award, best overall student, strongest core (Pilates) awards.
* Kyle Barker: best golf mental skills award, recognition for hard work, best technical improvement, life skill positive attitude awards.
* Daniel Abraham: academic, life skill etiquette, focus and precision (Pilates) awards.
* Daniel Shin: most improved adaptation to western culture and English language (Korean students), most improved Korean student in English, most improved Korean student socially awards.
* Jane Lee: best Korean student in academics, most diligent Korean student in KeNako English programme, and indoor spinning Karoo Challenge (Pilates) awards.
* John Bang: good progress in Korean English programme, and adapting the best in hostel awards.
* Sarah Jinyoung: adapting best in South Africa and best Korean student in English awards.
* Lydon Charnley: most improved pilates student.
* Sarah Kim: best English and positive attitude (Korean students) award.
* Jodie Duminy: golf perseverance award.
* David Park: most improved golf player award.

The youngest player at KeNako Academy, Kyle Barker, was recognised for his work and improvement over the past year. He received one of his awards from KeNako’s hostel parents Jan and Mirinda Fourie.

Korea’s Jane Lee received her Academy awards from KeNako’s Hilton and Zenith Slamet. Jane is also a learner at Glenwood House and one of her awards recognised her commitment to doing well in her school’s upcoming Karoo Challenge which saw her recently learn to ride a bicycle.
