GEORGE NEWS - Heatherlands High School’s matric results paint a picture of a school navigating growth through challenging times.
The Matric Class of 2025 achieved a 76.6% pass rate, as 108 of the 141 learners who wrote the final exams passed. The larger matric group reflected the school’s rapid growth in recent years.
The top five candidates for 2025 were Joshua Sims, Cameron Swart, Alison Jantjies, Angelique Maswati and Lindsay Kanimeyer.
The acting principal, Moira Thesner, who has been part of the school since 2007 when it was still known as Die Bult and later transitioned into a mainstream school in 2016, said she is excited about what the future holds.
Looking back to 2024, when there were 82 learners, the school recorded an 84.1% pass rate, improving on the previous year’s 78.6%.
That year was particularly memorable as the school produced its first A candidate. Kahlia Kenge from Thembalethu achieved an impressive 80.5%, marking a historic milestone for the school.
Mulikuza Moko and Amvelo Gom were relieved by their good results.
