"Forty cases are children under 12 years and one adult male (37 years) to date. This is not the bacterial form (known as meningococcal) of meningitis, but enteroviral meningitis," said Mark van den Heever from the Department. According to Van den Heever this is the total confirmed cases reported since December 2015.
"All cases are being treated successfully, without any loss of life," he confirmed upon enquiry.
